This page was a temporary forum for the processing of username changes that related to the migration to single unified login (SUL) between June 2008 and April 2010. Prior to this, it served as a holding pen for requests that could not be completed due to bugs in the SUL renaming process.

• When the rename has been completed, your account will have been renamed, and any contributions you have made (including deleted contributions) will be reattributed to your new account as a background process. Your account preferences, watchlist contents, password, etc. will all be preserved, and your user and user talk pages will have been moved to the new name.

  Note: The process responsible for reallocating old contributions is currently dependent upon the job queue mechanism. As such, you may find old contributions do not immediately appear under your new account; this is perfectly normal. Updates should take at most a day to complete, although the length of time will vary according to the size of the job queue on this wiki, and the status of the server processes which process this queue.

• The change will appear in the user rename log and the request will be moved to the archives in the interest of transparency. It is not possible to rename accounts without an entry being created in the log.
• This change will not affect signatures you have already left on talk pages, or other places where you signed your username with ~~~~. Those pages will continue to display your signature (including the link to your old username) unless edited manually.
• Be aware: Once you have been renamed, your old account will no longer exist and may potentially be recreated by a third party. This is true even if your old account pages have been redirected towards your new account. To guard against impersonation, you may wish to recreate the old account yourself.

I'm using SkyCaptain account in our local Turkish Wikipedia but i need also global one because i'm contributing with translations from English to Turkish and it'll be much more easy for me to reach and edit pages in global wiki. I took a look for global SkyCaptain, he looks not a very active user so i hope this usurp will be done.

The SkyCaptain on this wiki has made almost as many edits as you have on trwiki, and he has edited recently. I would prefer to engage him and refer him to this request before committing a rename.  Clerk note: The target user exists here and at no- and it-wiki. You will have to request usurpation here (see WP:USURP) and at both no- and it-wiki to successfully create a SUL with this name. Searched for hours, looked on many pages, sorry, but I cannot seem the appropiate or correct procedure to request what I want to do. Please correct me and/or point me in the right direction, if this way chosen is wrong. REQUEST. I used the Special:MergeAccount to merge my accounts, but someone else are using my name on a few other accounts. I hold the largest edit count. I don't want to change my name, i want to merge or usurp these accounts if possible so I can continue to use my own name in all merged accounts and secondary to avoid my name being mistreated by impersonators. Thanks.

Hi,

I am a Wikipedia user from Wikipedia (fr). I tried to unify my global account in order to be able to edit pages in English and German. It worked for the german version of Wikipedia, nonetheless, this nickname is already used on this wiki.

I tried to log in on this account with no success. This account has no email adress and has only one edit in 2006.

In order to make you sure that this IP is linked to the Hiryu account I wrote "Try to unify his global account" on my page. Hiryu's page

Could you please allow me to unify my global account ?
