Govind Kumar Singh (Hindi: गोविन्द कुमार सिंह) is a fashion designer from Bihar, India who has won several awards.
Early life and career
Born in Sukhpur Supaul, Bihar, Singh comes from a Hindu (Sanskrit: क्षत्रिय, kṣatriya from Sanskrit: क्षत्र, kṣatra) family. He graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bangalore, India.
Recognition
Singh won the reality based competition Let's Design in 2011[1] and in 2010 won the Most Creative and Innovative Design Collection Award[citation needed] in the NIFT Graduation Fashion show. He also won the Best Prêt Designer Award in the first season of Let's Design.[2][3]
He represented India in a fashion show organized by India and Switzerland to celebrate 60 years of friendship between them.[citation needed]
During November 12–30, 2008, the largest-ever India Festival, with the theme “blended cultures”, whereby Amsterdam, Holland was temporarily transformed into “India”. He designed an Indian festival Holi-inspired outfit that represented India.[citation needed]
He was selected as Wills Lifestyle Debutant Designer 2010 and showcased collection.[citation needed]
He won Chrysalis 2009 (a national-level fashion design competition).[citation needed][4]
