Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests
Here the community can nominate articles to be selected as "Today's featured article" (TFA) on the main page. The TFA section aims to highlight the range of articles that have "featured article" status, from Art and architecture through to Warfare, and wherever possible it tries to avoid similar topics appearing too close together without good reason. Requests are not the only factor in scheduling the TFA (see Choosing Today's Featured Article); the final decision rests with the TFA coordinators: Wehwalt, Dank, Gog the Mild and SchroCat, who also select TFAs for dates where no suggestions are put forward. Please confine requests to this page, and remember that community endorsement on this page does not necessarily mean the article will appear on the requested date.
If you have an exceptional request that deviates from these instructions (for example, an article making a second appearance as TFA, or a "double-header"), please discuss the matter with the TFA coordinators beforehand. It can be helpful to add the article to the pending requests template, if the desired date for the article is beyond the 30-day period. This does not guarantee selection, but does help others see what nominations may be forthcoming. Requesters should still nominate the article here during the 30-day time-frame.

How to post a new nomination:
Scheduling: In the absence of exceptional circumstances, TFAs are scheduled in date order, not according to how long nominations have been open or how many supportive comments they have. So, for example, January 31 will not be scheduled until January 30 has been scheduled (by TFAR nomination or otherwise). |

Baby Driver is an action film written and directed by Edgar Wright. First released on June 28, 2017, it tells the story of a young Atlanta-based getaway driver's (Ansel Elgort, pictured) quest for freedom from a life of crime with his lover Debora (Lily James). The film also features Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Eiza González, Jamie Foxx and Jon Bernthal in supporting roles. Baby Driver was a longtime passion project Wright had developed for over two decades, and his early directing experience shaped his ambitions for the project. Filming took place over four months, which involved the planning of meticulously coordinated stunts, choreography, and in-camera shooting. Baby Driver was praised by critics for its craftsmanship, but the characterization and scriptwriting drew mixed responses. During its initial theatrical run, the film grossed $226 million at the global box office, boosted by positive word-of-mouth support and fatiguing interest in blockbuster franchises. The success of Baby Driver has increased studio interest in producing a sequel. (Full article...)

- The blurb review was at WT:Featured article candidates/Baby Driver/archive1.
Let's do this: if the blurb language above draws complaints here or at ERRORS, I'll replace it with the blurb from the blurb review (so if there's anything wrong with the language at the blurb review, let me know).- Dank (push to talk) 12:52, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

- Changed my mind ... I've probably done my due diligence at this point by linking to the blurb review; probably, people aren't expecting anything else, and I need to avoid the appearance of being too taken with my own prose. Do what you like, but FWIW, there's a chance someone will comment on the tone of "longtime passion project", "shaped his ambitions" and "meticulously coordinated". It may be a little too promotional. - Dank (push to talk) 20:20, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- For what it's worth I'm uncomfortable with the prose as well as written. Therapyisgood (talk) 01:50, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

- Comment: I would clarify in the prose who is being pictured for people unfamiliar with the actor as there are several names listed in the blurb. Aoba47 (talk) 21:27, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
