Summary
[edit]Description |
Various categories of engineered nucleases currently used for genome editing. ZFN (zinc finger nuclease) and TALEN (Transcription activator-like effector nuclease) are linked to the active catalytic domains of FokI endonuclease. FokI subunits can be engineered to function as heterodimers only to increase specificity. Naturally occurring meganucleases can be engineered into hybrids to cover greater sequence diversity. |
