Northfields is an area of Brentford/Ealing located in West London, which is a suburban settlement with half its postcode in the London Borough of Hounslow and half in the London Borough of Ealing. The area is small with little note aside from the Piccadilly Line service which runs through its centre serving the station of the same name, the main shopping street (Northfields Avenue) and for bus services running between Greenford, Ealing, Brentford, Acton and night bus services to Central London. It is home to Little Ealing Primary School, Mount Carmel R C Primary School and Gunnersbury Catholic Boys school, though arguably, the Gunnersbury Catholic School site straddles both Northfields and the neighbouring Boston Manor (which itself straddles the Hounslow/Ealing boroughs). For a London suburb there is a surprisingly strong community spitit. Northfields Avenue has an annnual festival/party day and there were a number of street parties for the 2003 Golden Jubilee.
By 1965, urban London had further expanded and almost all of the original area was incorporated into Greater London. Middlesex is still used informally as an area name and may be included in some postal addresses.
