Social democracy as Selected article

That’s a little controversial...to say the least

There will be a DYK for Tom Kahn soon:  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 01:24, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Radical Civic Union

The Radical Civic Union party in Argentina is not socialist, no teven close to it; it is a middle class party with a right wing politic ideology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.244.15.170 (talk) 19:32, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lets add National Socialism (disambiguation) here.

Since the following all have "socialist" in there name, why not add them (with the exception of Nazi, which everyone knows were not socialist) here? each of the article are sourced, and correctly named. Darkstar1st (talk) 11:49, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because the consensus among scholars is that they were nazi or neo-nazi parties rather than socialist and fall under the broad political grouping of the Extreme Right. TFD (talk) 19:57, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Socialism in One Country

any objections to adding this to the portal? Darkstar1st (talk) 23:55, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is North Korea socialist?

The economy of NK isn't socially owned.Xx236 (talk) 07:42, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Enough for it to be here, Broadly I'd say that Juche as a nationalist movement finds it origins in a tradition with deep ties to the socialist movement. North Korea Scholar Suzy Kim argues that North Korea is an example of 'Socialist Modernity' saying that the importance of the concept of socialism as an alternative path of development to the west for anti-colonial movements merits this designation even if the status of the economy can be debated based on theory and politics. I'd say that association is probably enough to include North Korea here. Plus I think its hard to ever resolve the "Is x socialist?" question in a conclusive and encyclopedic manner by making political arguments. Remusofreem (talk) 23:37, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • No, the economic system it exists under is very capitalist, and NK had a socialist revolution when it was still feudal. It's socialist in ideology and goals only. puggo 15:52, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Socialism RfC

Editors are invited to contribute at Talk:Socialism#RfC: What should be the topic of this article? TFD (talk) 18:02, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have set up a second RfC and invite editors to contribute. TFD (talk) 07:02, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject

There definitely needs to be a link to the corresponding WikiProject and I'm not seeing that anywhere. Is it on the page and I'm simply not finding it? If so, I would suggest making it more prominent. PatrioticProletarian (talk) 08:29, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:45, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WHY RED???

did the communists wear socialism so well that we give them socialism's color? aren't we falling into a trap where 'reds' and socialists are intermixed? is there a better symbolism for red other than mccarthy's trials??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.167.209.144 (talk) 08:55, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
