- Decide whether Commonwealth or American spelling should be used, and ensure that the article uses the chosen spellings
- Make article less technical so that non-fencers can understand: suggest cleaning up foil, epee, and sabre sections by moving reference to electronics to a more technical section.
- Eliminate occasional POV that creeps in between the weapons "Saber is better", etc...
- Use care with POV regarding fencing styles -- Possibly another reason to make article less technical.
- Possibly create section on changes in the sport.
- Increase cited references.
