A tag has been placed on Draft:KStarLive, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I am an avid kpop lover. The reason I used the official KStarLive site email and name was I thought that the companies themselves took the time to update their own wiki page but I was mistaken. I hope you could lift the block and let me contribute to anything related to K-entertainment and also in adding KStarLive to Wikipedia. The reason is I believe Kpop in general did so much in bringing positive exposure to the Korean culture and sites like KStarLive, Koreaboo, and AllKpop will continue to do so accurately in English. I will also make contribution to anything related to Hallyu or Kpop and also my favorite TV shows, movies, and topics I am fond of and knowledgeable about.

Decline reason:

You haven't addressed the blatantly promotional nature of your edits. I'd also like to understand your comment about using "the official KStarLive site email and name" - are you associated with that site or not? Huon (talk) 22:35, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

No, not associated nor have a I received compensation to do the edits. I understand that it may have sounded like a promotional article and I was trying to explain in the above that it wasn't for that nature I just use the three websites (Koreaboo, AllKpop, and KStarLive) for updates on K-entertainment and I just didn't see just KStarLive in Wikipedia and though it would be great to share as I check all 3 sites for updates on K-entertainment. Hope you could proceed my unblock and also I took the things from KStarLives Facebook About info so I apologize if that sounded to spammy or promotional if possible I would like a chance to be able to redo the article as i've grown to really like this site and saw that they have more things coming up as I am an avid watcher of their new live broadcasts they have been doing. I apologize if I sound to much like a fanatic its just that its great to be able to read about all these K-entertainment in English for a change. I am currently in Korea studying but my Korean is nowhere near the level to be able to read the local articles. Hoping for your understanding and consideration. I also appreciate what you guys do and would like to also contribute in my own way if possible. Thank you.

Accept reason:

While I share the concerns of User:Dlohcierekin below, I think we've dealt with the reasons in policy why this account was blocked and I'm going to unblock to give a second chance. Please bear in mind that what you write in Wikipedia articles must be neutral, not promotional, and backed up by reliable sources. Good luck. GoldenRing (talk) 16:59, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Promotionalism

[edit]

Hello, the remaining concern is the promotional nature of your edits. The text of the deleted page reads as if you are trying to sell the reader on the subject. For instance-- "focuses" is a little too spammy. "dedicated to delivering " is right out of a corporate about page, well the rest of the sentence is too "hot", if you take my meaning. "strives"?-- nope. That the thing was wholly sourced from the corporate web page and an Alexa review don't help at all.

Encyclopedia subjects need to have lots written about them by lots of sources not connected with the subject. We need you to understand that the sort of edits you made are at cross purposes with Wikipedia. If you can affirm understanding that this is the reason for you block-- the page read like an advertisement-- we can probably move forward with an unblock. It would help if you could find some other article to improve, name it here, and propose improvements to be made. This would help convince the community that you want to help build an encyclopedia rather than just write ads.

Almost forgot. Please read WP:Paid. If you receive any recompense for editing here, you need to disclose that. Thanks Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:45, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
