[#DEAL] Congratulations to E Ink for completing its inaugural green loan. It is the first green loan issued in Taiwan and in the Asia-Pacific region based on the #EUTaxonomy validated by a second party opinion. The NTD 3 billion proceeds will fund E Ink’s continuous investment in developing green and #sustainable products, including the expansion of e-Paper, one of the most energy-efficient display technologies in the industry. [#DEAL] Congratulations to both OQ and DEME Group on achieving this successful equity and operator partnership in the HYPORT Duqm project, a large-scale green #hydrogen project in Oman with bp. Within this successful Green ammonia partnership, bp acquired a 49% stake, while OQ and DEME each maintain a 25.5% stake in the project company. The agreement will enable bp to become part of this ambitious, flagship integrated project, leading the way to the development of innovative solutions and contributing to the decarbonisation of tomorrow’s industry and economy. [#CONFERENCE] Clean #hydrogen is one of the most promising tracks to a decarbonised economy and industry, provided that its production comes from renewable sources! On September 5th, Fanny Charrier, from our US Power and New Energy Coverage team, gave her views in a fireside chat moderated by Vivek Pathak, CEO and founder of ONE POWER USA at the World Electrolysis North America Conference about the challenges and opportunities of structuring electrolyser-based hydrogen projects. They discussed how the financial sector, and Groupe Crédit Agricole specifically, is eager to support new energy companies and is ready to deploy capital. They deep dived into the key bankability topics for electrolyser companies to enable deployment of the technology at scale, noting however that the lack of mature enough low-carbon projects and permitting remained as major blocking points. [#EVENT] We’re excited to be back at #GTRAsia this year, a leading inaugural event for Asia-Pacific trade that connects over 1,300 decision makers across trade and supply chain finance, commodity finance, fintech and treasury. Tolentino Mendonca, Head of Trade Finance Asia-Pacific, discussed the growing needs of digital receivables financing solutions at a panel. He shared: "Digitalisation will be the driving force behind the future of receivables finance, empowering businesses with new efficiencies and opportunities. [#Appointments] 🎉 We are delighted to announce the appointments of Atul Sodhi, Ian Harcourt, and Lise Kessler as Senior Country Officers (SCOs) for the United Kingdom, Nordic, Benelux and Ireland. Atul Sodhi has been appointed as SCO for the United Kingdom on 1st September 2024. Based in London, Atul will oversee the development of the Bank’s UK franchise and join the Bank’s Management Committee. His extensive international experience in Client Coverage, Credit Origination, Syndication, and Global Markets will be instrumental in further enhancing our UK business. Ian Harcourt, FRICS took on the role of SCO for the Nordic region from 1st September 2024. Based in Stockholm, Ian will lead business activities across Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark. Ian’s leadership will be pivotal in driving our development strategy in this high-potential area where we already hold strong positions. Lise Kessler is appointed as SCO for the Benelux countries and Ireland effective 1st October 2024. Based in Brussels, Lise will be in charge of business activities across Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg and Ireland, and focus on developing sustainable synergies with other Groupe Crédit Agricole entities operating in the region. Back for the second year, the Asia Innovation #Hackathon held last week brought together over 100 participants from across the region. Representatives from our technology hub in Singapore and our teams in India, Hong Kong SAR, South Korea, Dubai, China, and Taiwan, united to tackle pressing challenges with agility and innovative thinking. The event featured 12 use cases, each validated by the Chief Operating Officers of the respective functions and markets. Participants embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and creativity, working tirelessly throughout the day to develop practical solutions. Our teams from diverse functions and geographies showcased their ability to collaborate effectively and leverage their combined expertise. Within the day, nine solutions were crafted, each demonstrating a deep understanding of both business needs and technical feasibility. These solutions not only provided actionable insights on #digitaltransformation, but also strengthened relationships between diverse teams. This event laid a strong foundation for future collaborative efforts and serves as a testament to the Bank’s shared commitment to #innovation and continuous improvement.
