Reporting visitor attributes across visits appears to be a common request among users. Implementing such reporting in Matomo would be beneficial to marketers and anyone wanting fine-grain insights to campaign and site performance.
A simple example:
A user would like to know the initial entry page that led to a conversion. Matomo can only report the entry page for the visit that converted the sale, not the initial entry page from their first, campaign attributed visit.
It would be important, if not critical, to know how well the entry page did to pull the custom in and lead to a conversion on a subsequent visit.
One way to design this might be to create a filter condition for Visit #. So viewing a Cross-visit Report for visit # 1 could display the Entry Page along with conversion and other metrics that looks across all visits of a visitor.
Our Advertising Conversion Export feature uses a similar methods when "Only export visits with a Click ID" is left unchecked. the export feature will traverse all visits for each visitor to find any conversions where at least once they entered the site with a GLCID.
