Track Creator and Last Modifier of Custom Reports and Segments

Description:

In several projects utilizing Matomo along with the Custom Reports plugin, customers have expressed the need to identify which Matomo user created or last modified a custom report or segment. This feature would be especially valuable in larger projects with many users and a high volume of custom reports and segments (often exceeding 20-30 items).

Use Case:

In large-scale projects, administrative personnel often struggle to determine the relevance and necessity of existing custom reports and segments. By having the ability to see who created or last modified a report or segment, admins can directly reach out to those users to check if these items are still needed. This functionality would help keep the Matomo environment organized, reduce clutter, and ensure that only relevant reports and segments are maintained.

Feature Request:

• Add a feature to both the Custom Reports plugin and the Segments functionality to display:

  • The name of the user who created the custom report or segment.
  • The name of the user who last modified the custom report or segment.

• This information should be easily accessible within the settings or metadata section of each custom report and segment.

Benefits:

• Enhanced management of custom reports and segments in larger projects.
• Simplified communication and verification with the creators of reports and segments regarding their relevance and necessity.
• Greater administrative oversight and control.
