Part of that phase of animated kids movie that desperately tried to have a “cute character” due to the success of the Despicable Me franchise, but it’s still a good movie.

The Great Dictator 1940
The plot was typical Chaplin in that it was more oriented around funny situations than a cohesive narrative, but the gags were as funny as ever and the ending speech is one of the greatest final scenes in cinematic history. This is a bold and beautiful film.

Challengers 2024
This was very interesting, I’ll give it that. The theme felt like this analogous connection between sex and tennis, which was fully fleshed out. The cinematography was good and the performances by the love triangle were great.
I just didn’t feel anything personal in watching it, but I think it’s a good film that met the goal it set out to achieve.

Dune: Part Two 2024
I know we are comparing fantasy and science fiction, but this is the closest a film has gotten to touching a Lord of the Rings film that I can remember. The emotion, action and storytelling paired with the phenomenal score make this among the greatest science fiction films ever made, and probably the greatest of the millennia. Outside of its genre, it still serves as one of the sexiest looking films ever made. Denis Villenueve is at the top of his game and is the only director currently rivaling Chris Nolan.
