plenty of flaws but some unexpected highs, great cast, it was so nice to see actual sets and makeup and effects. i had about the same experience as watching the original 30 years ago: enjoyed the creeps, laughed at the stupid jokes, would marry beetlejuice

sorry but arjun>>>>> ajith, though i did enjoy how he gradually goes insane in the 2nd half. this guy is supposed to be cool but anyone who treats trisha like that is obv a huge loser. plus arjun's hair looked just like don-era srk 😍 wasn't super invested in the plot but appreciated how it kept being funny even as everyone gets shot to death. the songs were good (that "i'm your twin towers the way you hit on me"…

don't blame anyone for having issues with some of the truly deranged stuff here but in my very biased opinion i loved it, this healed my soul, me n thalapathy both closing the biggest chapter of our lives at the same time to live the rest of our lives in uncharted territory!! i gave myself the gift of learning absolutely nothing about this, didn't listen to the songs or watch the trailer or read reviews or even look at the…

normally i'd say one day wasn't enough to fall ride-or-die in love but these two sweet little cuties came up with the most nonsense plan i've heard in my life so obviously they were meant to be. love the shady film/music industry drama, the lighting is just gorgeous, it's hilarious and unpredictable, amazing pair (obviously) and amazing soundtrack (obviously), and then suriya's oversized shirts and jackets were the cherry on top

first half sets up for a slightly toxic but cute and funny romance with a solid female lead and her cute best friend, second half is just straight deranged, like people are covering up high profile murder by making dead bodies seem alive and everyone is a total asshole and vikram is bombing people with cell phones?? great songs though

    Indian 2: Zero Tolerance

"a lot to process" is the understatement of the year. in true shankar fashion, filled with so many baffling details that every time you think you have a moral or political stance nailed down, something contradicts it and then kamal speeds away on a unicycle - a style pretty well summed up by a dazzling large scale song conceived and shot with impeccable skill that is used to announce a facebook live event and includes dancers wearing giant kamal heads.…

love the flashback fantasy way this was structured and told, reminded me a little bit of raja rani except less tragic. everyone in this movie truly cares for each other deep down, even the villain is moved to tears by the love story and it's as much about friendship as it is about romance. kajal looked beautiful and i hope her character gave her darling bf prabhas some fashion tips after they got together, a truly dire wardrobe but he still looked sweet and played the keytar!!

needed a lil dose of thalapathy for comfort and this hit the spot. 5 stars for the songs, the fact the album specifically icekatti isn't on spotify is an actual crime. tbh i need to rewatch the last 30mins because i fell asleep, but in a good way, sweet vijay shooting his nokia phone out of an arm holster was just too soothing

  • Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire

    Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire

think i need to rewatch to give this a proper rating, it's an overwhelming movie both because of the plot and the intensity of the drama, not to mention a near-constant stream of slow motion mass moments...at the same time there are so many small emotional beats of quiet contemplating and sadness, and given how wild and loud the style is it's surprising how much depth is given to some of the characters. obsessed with the idea of this more…
