THIS IS THE CUTEST THING IVE EVER SEEN IM ON THE FLOOR RIGHT NOW😭😭😭😭OH MY GODDDD I LOVE IT
Not going to hide the fact that Pixar kills me every time. I always smile. I always laugh. And I ALWAYS cry. Good god do I cry…
But I love what they’ve been up to lately! In particular I think this and Luca are so so important in showing little kids how to find themselves and be independent. Especially through mediums they understand and are interested in. That shit is vital!!! Wonderful
Also I loved how they just made the kids like… do regular kid things! I hate it when movies only show positive images of children when they’re being outlandishly heroic. 13 year old girls panic over celebrity crushes! They write fan fiction! They dance weird! No use making kids in real life feel bad about themselves because they’re not saving their dog from falling out of a plane or something.
And mentioning periods was such a daring but excellent choice. HATE this word but I’ll use it anyways: normalize that shit!!! Only harm comes from keeping periods shoved away in a cave. That is just life! And stuff like this prevents fear and shame. Good good good
This animation was STUNNING. Feel like a lot of Disney animation (especially for characters) has gotten a little repetitive and this was a beautiful switch up. So unbelievably adorable ugh
I really loved the things they did to make it feel like a classic teen movie. The little classmate interviews about Mei and the fundraising montages were perfect oh goodness
Top it all off with the icon James Hong and u have a perfect movie. Couldn’t complain about a thing if I tried. Wish I had this when I was 10! ADORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
