Like Choi Jae-hoon previous action film The Swordsman, The Killer uses a young woman as an excuse for Korean action star Jang Hyuk to kill a lot of people in expertly put together action scenes. The earlier movie set itself against lots of macho suffering and this one is pure fantasy, either way it is all setup for good choreography and well designed scenes of Jang Hyuk dispatching people. Choi is good at find a balance between remaining creative enough so things don't get too samey and offer a high volume of it.
