    Rewatch to show my parents.

The editing jumped out at me. If you’re an apolitical American with little knowledge of what’s happened/happening in Israel/Palestine beyond what the news shows, as many Americans are, this is comprehensive yet concise and enough to pry open one’s curiosity to explore more.

Not terrible, not great but you can feel a concerted effort from the players to make a solid film even if it doesn’t all land. It’s perhaps a smidge less corny than the original and that might be a weakness. There are some stellar needle drops (which I wish they would’ve committed to a full montage with) and many of the kills are graphic as fuck. At times this felt like something out of the Constantine universe and I wish they would’ve leaned more in that direction. I wouldn’t mind a sequel.

Straight up, this is the worst film I’ve watched in a minute. I am actively encouraging you to pass this one over if you’re considering it.

It’s astounding how much the film wants Jules to suffer and be uncomfortable. From the moment fascist-coded time bomb Preston is introduced to the very final frame, he is a non-stop source of anxiety from his threatening outbursts to his pitiful moments of vulnerability. We are asked to consider his feelings or his rage…
