Longlegs

Longlegs

You were allowed to grow up

Fashionably late to the party, I finally gave Longlegs a watch and wow. While this is one, if not the most hyped horror film of the year, it’s a creepy tale with genuinely stellar performances that‘s more than just chilling.

Its parallels to „Silence of the Lambs“ are pretty noticeable, but that just boosts this movie as the best horror flick I’ve seen this year, at least so far. It’s chilling, haunting, it does deliver on every front, but I would have enjoyed a bit more of it.

The pacing is very well constructed, but thanks to the slow build up, the „Part Three“ feels rushed. It’s a movie that would have benefitted from 20 more minutes in the final act. Nonetheless, the chilling supernatural murder-mystery is worth a watch for everyone. Some might find it boring, or slow. But I enjoyed ever second of this.

HUGE praise for the awesome cinematography that’s very noticeable from the beginning. Many wide shots, long takes, and slightly distorted camera movements make you feel even more eerie. With a haunting sound design, this movie delivers on the technical front as well!
