item-requires-statement constraint

edit

Hi @Matthias M.:,

Any particular reason to remove the item-requires-statement constraint (Q21503247) on DOS/MS-DOS? Looking through the current violations, it does look like Abandonia also indexes Windows games, but that should be added to the constraint, not removing it?

The http://www.abandonia.com/faq never mentions DOS or Windows being a restraint for getting added to the database. Matthias M. (talk) 16:34, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Empirically, I have never seen a game that was not DOS or Windows.
The FAQ does say: “I'm running Mac OS / Linux! How do I run the games?”
For DOS-based games (with the DOS compatibility icon), there are DOSBox versions for each of these systems. For Windows-based ones (with only the Windows compatibility icon), you'll either have to use WINE (on Linux) or a complete virtual machine (there's a number of them out there, both for Mac and Linux).
Does seem to imply they are either DOS or Windows. Jean-Fred (talk) 19:43, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
