History

The young woman who would become Electric Eve was hooked on heroin while still in school in Chicago and was kicked out of her home by her parents. She was sold into prostitution by her drug-dealing boyfriend Ricky to maintain her addiction. Her mutant powers manifested on the job, and she accidentally electrocuted her costumer. Eve fled and eventually joined the group of fugitive mutants known as the Morlocks led by Postman. Her experiences left her cold, cynical and bitter towards everyone else, especially her tender Morlock colleague Angel Dust.[1] As outcasts, the Morlocks were constantly targets of the police and were forced to hide in the sewer tunnels of the city to hide from the tracking capacities of mutant-killing Sentinels.[2]

The Morlocks helped each other in personal tasks. When it was Electric Eve's turn, she asked for help in securing her grandmother's diamond ring which her ex-boyfriend had stolen. After the Morlocks took out Ricky's goons, Electric Eve confronted him alone in his penthouse. She let out all of her rage, frying Ricky in his swimming pool, exhausting herself. While rescued by the Morlock Trader, Electric Eve shared that revenge was not hollow. Postman was furious at being made an accessory to murder, but there was no time to argue as the Sentinels attacked.[1] The Morlocks fled back to their tunnels, where Postman proceeded to chastise Electric Eve for her actions. Trader stood up for Electric Eve, expressing he had a similar wish. They were interrupted by the police, and one officer fired at Eve, but Trader jumped between them and took the fatal bullet for her. Enraged, Electric Eve let loose with all she had, electrocuting several cops, and her rage was unleashed upon the other cops. Remorseful, she stated that she would comply to Postman's methods; ultimately, the Morlocks decided to take out the Sentinel Command Center.[3]

The plan was set into motion. Electric Eve deactivated a Sentinel by overriding its system with her power, while the others sneaked aboard and reprogrammed it. They used the Sentinel as a "Trojan Horse" to get into the Sentinel base, then burst out. In the ensuing battle, Electric Eve fried the main controls, and all the connected Sentinels with it. As the Morlocks fled, Electric Eve hot-wired a van to get the group out of Chicago. As the van left Chicago, Electric Eve asked Postman if there were any other others out there like them, and Postman said he hoped not.[4]

Eventually, Electric Eve appeared as an inmate in the Robert Kelly Correctional Facility for mutants. She had become part of the entourage of Crazy Maisie, the alpha inmate of the female general population.[5]
