History

After retaliation over Hydra's takeover of the United States led to unrest in Bagalia, Chance took the money from his most recent score and built a new den of vice catering to unsavory clientele, a flying casino he called The Palace. One of the casino's attractions was a sportsbook for betting on superhuman battles that were broadcast live in the casino by hacking into a variety of surveillance systems.[2]

After Jamie Tolentino became indebted to Chance when his plan to use the future-predicting device called the Clairvoyant to bet on the sportsbook failed, Chance pressured Jamie into helping him steal another artifact named the Catalyst to charge the Clairvoyant and use it for the casino.[3] Both devices were taken to The Palace, where sleeper agents of the Finisher disguised as Jack O'Lanterns attempted to steal them. In the process, many of The Palace's patrons that were also double agents began thrashing the casino, throwing away its battery in the process to make it crash into Manhattan. Jamie managed to connect the Catalyst to The Palace's power grid, giving it enough power for Spider-Man to divert it so it could crash-land away from the city.[4]

Technology[]

  • Defenses: The Palace is equipped with a force field for protection from unwanted guests.[1]
  • Propulsion: The Palace is typically above the island of Manhattan, but is capable of cloaking and instantly teleporting over international waters, should the need to avoid law enforcement and their jurisdiction arise.[2]
