History
When the X-Men confronted Magneto, Jean Grey decided that his fanaticism was too dangerous and wiped his mind. Afterwards, the X-Men revealed themselves to the public, with Iceman giving and interview to Trish Tilby.
Later, Jean was investigating a story about a bunch of mutant kids who went missing, their families no longer remembering them despite the physical evidence and memories of others. Beast attempted to get her to drop the story but failed, and Jean fried the brains of both Beast and Trish after Hank tried to reveal the truth to her.[1]
