Rocket Raccoon was a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, when the ship detected the energy reading of the Phoenix Force approaching them. Drax tried to avoid it, but the Phoenix kept matching course and Star-Lord ordered that they send a distress signal with the energy signature before the Phoenix Force destroyed the ship, seemingly killing them all.[1]
