Umbazi is a West African nation which was formerly ruled by Basil Crushstone, who was effectively dictator of the country until he was forcibly removed and Umbazi given its independence. Crushstone AKA the Manipulator later tried to force a mind controlled Queen Elizabeth to lead the Royal Navy in an attempt to reconquer Umbazi, but was thwarted by Captain Britain before he got near the place again.[citation needed]
