Picard damaged by compressed teryon beam

Damage caused by a compressed teryon beam weapon

For the tetryon weapon, please see compressed tetryon beam weapon.

A compressed teryon beam weapon was a type of directed energy weapon.

A group of Lenarians used a compressed teryon beam weapon to attack Captain Jean-Luc Picard in 2369 outside of a conference he and the away team were attending. The weapon fused the bio-regulator in his artificial heart, threatening his life. (TNG: "Tapestry")

According to Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 84 and the TNG Season 6 DVD subtitles the correct spelling was "compressed tetryon beam." However both Worf and the script of the episode clearly stated "compressed teryon beam". The episode script in The Q Chronicles uses the tetryon spelling. [1]
