Gilbert Green (1 January 1914 – 15 April 1984; age 70) was the actor who played a S.S. Major in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "Patterns of Force". He filmed his scenes on Wednesday 29 November 1967 and Friday 1 December 1967 at the Paramount Pictures lot and at Desilu Stage 11.

Green made guest appearances on several other television series, including The Untouchables, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Perry Mason, Bewitched, My Favorite Martian (starring Ray Walston), the pilot episode of Starsky & Hutch (with David Soul), Barney Miller (with Lee Meriwether), McCloud (with Diana Muldaur), The Rockford Files, Fantasy Island (starring Ricardo Montalban), Charlie's Angels (starring Kate Jackson, and Quincy, M.E. (with Robert Ito and Garry Walberg).

He made his film debut in Homicidal (1961, starring Original Series guest actors Glenn Corbett and Joan Marshall). He followed this with roles in such films as By Love Possessed (1961, with Yvonne Craig), Pressure Point (1962, with Clegg Hoyt and George Murdock), Dark Intruder (1965, with Peter Brocco and Bill Quinn), Halls of Anger (1970, with Janet MacLachlan, John McLiam, Roy Jenson, and Davis Roberts), The Man (1972, directed by Joseph Sargent and featuring William Windom, Janet MacLachlan, Robert DoQui, Barry Russo, Garry Walberg, and Vince Howard), Executive Action (1973, with John Anderson, Paul Carr, Ed Lauter, Lee Delano, Dick Miller, and Paul Sorensen), and, most notably, Norma Rae (1979, with Gail Strickland and Noble Willingham).
