The High Sierras, primarily known as the Sierra Nevada, was a mountain range located in eastern California on Earth.
Henry Starling witnessed the crash landing of the Federation timeship Aeon while camping in the High Sierras in 1967. (VOY: "Future's End")
The scene opening "Future's End" was actually filmed on Monday 19 August 1996 on Paramount Stage 16.
