Kasra Farahani (born 1 March 1978; age 46) is a production designer and filmaker who worked as an Art Director under production designer Scott Chambliss on Star Trek Into Darkness. [1] He created the interior of the USS Vengeance. [2]

Farahani's work on 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness earned him an ADG Excellence in Production Design Award nomination in 2014 in the category Fantasy Film which he shared with Scott Chambliss, Ramsey Avery, James Clyne, Lauren Polizzi, Michael E. Goldman, Harry E. Otto, Andrew E.W. Murdock, Jason Baldwin Stewart, Natasha Gerasimova, Steve Christensen, Andrea Dopaso, John Eaves, Nathan Schroeder, Ryan Church, Christopher Ross, Victor Martinez, Steven Messing, Karl Strahlendorf, John Chichester, Tex Kadonaga, Kevin Cross, Andrew Reeder, Anne Porter, Jane Wuu, Richard F. Mays, Allen Coulter, Karl Martin, Scott Schneider, Lorrie Campbell, Easton Smith, Tammy Lee, Tim Croshaw, Clint Schultz, and Karen Manthey.

Farahani was born in Iran; at the age of one, his parents fled the 1979 Iranian Revolution and settled in Los Angeles. [3]

He has worked in the art department on numerous films and television programs, including Team America: World Police, Spider-Man 3, Blades of Glory, Charlie Wilson's War, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Farahani is the director of the film The Waiting on which he worked with Carina Berlin.
