Boylen was a 24th century Human man, a Starfleet lieutenant who served aboard the Federation starship USS Pegasus under the command of Captain Erik Pressman in the late 2350s decade.
Biography[]
One of his fellow crewmembers aboard the Pegasus was a young Ensign William T. Riker. Much to Riker's chagrin, Boylen would nickname the young officer "Ensign Babyface" due to Riker's youthful appearance. Persistent comments such as these would prompt Riker to finally grow a beard in 2365. (TNG episode: "The Pegasus")
