The Tereshkova (NCC-74656/01) was a 24th century Federation auxiliary vessel, a Type-8 shuttlecraft in Starfleet service from the 2370s decade. The Tereshkova was assigned to the Intrepid-class starship USS Voyager. (Shuttle Collection Issue 20: "Shuttlecraft Type-8")
Service history[]
This shuttle was named after the Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, who became the first Human woman in space on 16 June 1963. (Shuttle Collection Issue 20: "Shuttlecraft Type-8")
In the year 2371, Captain Kathryn Janeway and B'Elanna Torres used the Tereshkova to emit a dekyon beam, allowing Voyager to escape a type-4 quantum singularity. (VOY episode: "Parallax")
In 2410, the Bluegill-controlled Lieutenant Commander Kyla VanZyl took the Tereshkova while on leave to engage Sela's armored freighter in the Hobus star system. She claimed to have taken the shuttle to the Beta Quadrant on shore leave. Ships of the Romulan Star Navy and the Khitomer Alliance joined the fight. The escorting Mogai-class Imperial Star Navy warbird was destroyed and Sela's ship subdued. Because the Tereshkova had suffered significant damage, VanZyl requested to board the Alliance ship. Following a joint mission, VanZyl returned with Tereshkova to Voyager. (STO missions: "Iconian War", "Uneasy Allies")
