Shras Endilev was a famed Andorian ambassador and brewer, grandson of Sheras Endilev - an Andorian involved in early Federation politics.
Biography[]
In the 2230s, he had a daughter, Phell'Nun. He had hoped she would grow up to join Starfleet and become a famed Starfleet officer, to help reinforce Andoria's relationship with the Federation. Believing this was her goal as well, he often encouraged her not to get caught up in her "hobby" of researching history. But once he realized she actually wanted to be a historian, he was disappointed but understood.
He continued his keths tradition of brewing famed Endilev ale.
In 2266, he was assigned Andorian Ambassador to the Federation. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans)
In 2267, he represented Andoria at the Coridan III admission conference on Babel. An Orion spy was planted among his staff, impersonating an Andorian, and tried to stop the conference from happening, but in the end was stopped, and the conference went on. Shras was among the representatives that supported Coridan's admittance into the Federation. (TOS episode: "Journey to Babel")
Shras's eldest son, Theras shoorShras, who served as his planet's Warrantor of the Peace, was kidnapped and subsequently killed during a joint Romulan/Klingon plot to destabilize the UFP in 2281. Shras was deeply pained by the loss and mourned his son by means of an Andorian blood-mourning rite. During negotiations with the Romulans for the return of the remaining hostages, Shras personally represented his people, hoping to recover his son's remains. (TOS novel: Dwellers in the Crucible)
Legacy[]
Many books and biographies of Shras have been written, many prior to the 2250s, and even more later. His daughter, while deciding to be a historian, made a note to read every single one. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans)
- Several vessels were probably named after him: The Andorian transport ATS Shras, in service in the 2270s, as well as the USS Shras, in service in the late 23rd century. Since all of these were probably during his lifetime, they may have been named after someone else. (TOS novel: Death Count; TOS video game: Klingon Academy)
Alternate timeline[]
In an alternate timeline in which John Frederick Paxton destroyed Starfleet Command and ended the talks for the Coalition of Planets in 2155, Shras was the Andorian representative to the Grand Council of the Interstellar Coalition during the early 2260s.
In 2264, he attended a conference on Babel where the United Earth's petition for membership of the Interstellar Coalition was considered. (TOS - Myriad Universes novel: A Less Perfect Union)
