Ten-Forward was a lounge and recreation facility, including a bar, on the USS Enterprise-D and USS Enterprise-E. Throughout much of the Enterprise-D's service Guinan was the host of Ten-Forward. (TNG episode: "The Child"; TNG movie: Generations, et al.)
USS Enterprise-E[]
Following the launch of the USS Enterprise-E in 2372, the crew christened one of the ship's forward lounges as Ten-Forward in honor of the lounge aboard the previous Enterprise. The new Ten-Forward was more or less the same as the old lounge, furnished with a large bar with two replicators used to dispense a variety of drinks from synthale to tomato juice. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book One; TNG - The Dominion War novel: Behind Enemy Lines)
During the Dominion War, Ten-Forward became all but deserted as the crew had little time to sit and chat, and anyone who used the lounge had to serve themselves as the waiting staff had been reassigned. In late 2373, Captain Picard and Counselor Deanna Troi met with Ro Laren in the lounge to discuss her escape from the Demilitarized Zone in the Orb of Peace. It was during this meeting that Ro told him of her suspicions that the Dominion were building an artificial wormhole. (TNG - The Dominion War novel: Behind Enemy Lines)
By 2380 William T. Riker had successfully petitioned to have the E's Ten-Forward re-christened the Happy Bottom Riding Club. (TNG novel: Q & A)
