The Vasilakis Nebula was a nebula cloud located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. A version of this location also exists in the mirror universe. (ST video game: Shattered Universe)

History and specifics[]

In the 2290s decade, on stardate 9587.5, the crew of Federation starship USS Excelsior became transposed into the bodies of their mirror universe counterparts, the crew of Terran Empire starship ISS Excelsior. The Excelsior, trying to stay under the Empire's radar, has entered a mineral rich asteroid belt in the Vasilakis Nebula. A lone fighter scout was deployed to harvest the minerals in the target asteroids. Taj-class Klingon birds-of-prey were suddenly detected inside the asteroids and the fighter was ambushed, forced to battle the Klingons. All six asteroids were eventually harvested and the scout attempted to return to Excelsior, only to have the ship attacked by fighters and then a K't'inga-class Klingon battle cruiser, IKS Gr'oth. After a brief battle, the ISS Renegade arrived and the Klingons were driven off. The Renegade, unaware of Excelsior's transposition with prime universe counterparts, escorted the ship to Starbase 9 for repairs. (ST video game: Shattered Universe mission: "Fire and Ice")
