My rating system:
10 - Classic: These things will probably stick with me for the rest of my life. Timeless material.
9 - Excellent: Things that I consider among my all time favourites, but are missing one or two things that prevent them from reaching timeless status.
8 - Very Good/Great: Things that I can come back to repeatedly without getting bored. Borderline all time favourites that stand just a touch below the cream of the crop.
7 - Good: Things that I truly enjoy, but are missing an x-factor that would allow them to stand with the absolute best. Anything above this point is something I would consider a favourite.
6 - Solid/Decent: Things with just enough good qualities to raise them above the norm. Anything from this point or above is something I would actively want to revisit.
5 - Okay/Average: I wouldn't actively seek these things out, but I wouldn't mind them in passing, either.
4 - Mediocre: Things that are either missing key aspects that I might enjoy, or where the bad outweighs the good. Anything below this point is something I would actively avoid.
3 - Boring/Bad: Things I am completely indifferent about, or are too deeply flawed for me to enjoy.
2 - Very Bad: Things which have a significant number of elements that I actively dislike.
1 - Awful: Things I either find offensive or am otherwise completely incompatible with.
