He had a loving family, big brother and was popular in the academy. Until the Uchiha clan massacre happened. He lost everything he had, and was betrayed by Itachi, his big brother whom he always looked up to and cherished. He felt betrayal and loss of something special to him. Due to this, he changed from a pretty happy and a pleasant kid into a cold-hearted, revenge-obsessed teen. Until he was put into a team with Naruto and Sakura under Kakashi Hatake. On his first mission, which was to escort Tazuna, Sasuke learned how to work in a team, and gained a sense of comraderie. He found someone who he was able to risk his own life for. Everything was going on the right path until he met Orochimaru. Orochimaru gave him a Cursed Mark that made him stronger, but at the cost of severe pain. He also said that Sasuke will go to him because he will want power, since he is an avenger. And after Itachi visits him once again, puts him under a Tsukuyomi to see his parents dying for 24 hours and tells him that he lacks hatred. This once opens Sasuke’s eyes, as he realizes that his hatred is not strong enough. He challenges Naruto to a fight, which was interrupted by Kakashi. Both Sasuke and Naruto crash into water tanks and make holes in them. Sasuke notices how much bigger Naruto’s hole is compared to his. This once confirms Sasuke’s thoughts and decides to leave the village for power. He wants to get rid of Itachi as soon as possible, and going to Orochimaru is the quickest metod to do so. On his way to Orochimaru, he is once again challenged to a fight by Naruto. This time, thanks to his newer Cursed Mark stage 2, defeats him. This is a turning point in his character, because not only does he starts developing from here onwards, but also because thanks to the victory against Naruto, he is now sure that this is indeed the right path. He decided to abandon his friends for power, and it worked. Him defeating Naruto only proves it. But despite all of that, Sasuke left the village in peace. He didn’t want to hurt anyone, not even Sakura. The only reason Sasuke fought Naruto was, because Naruto wanted to bring him back to Konoha. That’s it. Sasuke had no reason to fight Naruto or anyone else. He just wanted to get power from Orochimaru and be able to defeat Itachi, nothing else. And this is shown when he refused to kill Naruto, despite Itachi telling him that he needs to kill his friend in order to gain Mangekyo Sharingan. Itachi’s method doesn’t suit him, and he wants to find his own way of revenge, and not only that. He wants to prove Itachi wrong, and that power can be gained by other ways than killing your friends. |

Thanks a lot! I looked around for a job at a bookstore and it's tough. =.= Not one is hiring, well, more time to focus on school I guess haha.
I'm really glad to hear that! Not a lot of people know about it and I really think people should try to be a bit more aware of what they consume and the origin of that as well.
I'm greatful someone else shares the same opinion. Like, Dude, I love Evangelion - but it's honestly not the most insanely difficult, theoretical thing to comprehend. Maybe it's from rewatching it a few times but I find I can answer most of the: "big questions" people have about the series easily. Like about what human instrumentality is. Why Shinji has control of everything. Etc etc. Anyway, what's your favorite Episode of the original series? I've been debating that for years. . . and how do you feel about the ending the anime gave? Personally, I'm a decent fan of them myself but I know it's nowhere near End of Evangelion hahaha.
I must admit I was suffering from burnout as well, but after coming back from my vacation I'm ready to tackle a lot more anime. Why I watched the first ten episodes of Trigun again, some Black Lagoon, and am planning on rewatching all the Rebuild Evangelion films - also am enjoying the new Star Wars Kenobi seriees and am going to try and give The Dragon Prince series on Netflix a shot!
There's nothing wrong with that one at all UwU I remember when I had my first gaming laptop and played Warframe on it, fun times lmao.
Also, can I say how happy I am to find another fan of Sasuke? Seriously him being a badly written character could quite possibly be the most incorrect, but widely known myth in all of anime. O_O
Oh god, those are a nightmare, right? For me, in my studies, we have a thing called: “Practicals and theoreticals”, I excel as theoreticals myself, which mostly consists of tests, multiple choices, etc, because for some reason I’m amazing at retaining information and understanding patterns. Idk why but it’s always been a skill I’ve had since i was a kid - the practicals however are unfortunately when I falter - and you can have all the info in the world, but when you can’t execute it it’s sadly not worth much - but I’m getting better at it! I came out of my last class with top grades so I’m excited. Do you find the juxtaposition of schoolwork being on your pc, but also games/your relaxation time on your pc a bit unnerving as well? I have two modes that tell my brain which mood to go to - I have a mechanical keyboard that uses cherry mx keys, and I have a cherry blue mx keyboard for schoolwork and typing in numbers and writing documents haha.
It’s interesting you brought up Persona 3 having some relevance to NGE, because Persona itself was inspired in part by Jungian psychoanalysis, which NGE was also in part inspired by. Hell, It’s in the name haha.
I very much agree! Ya know, I find it really funny in some respect - Evangelion is without a doubt the most analyzed anime series to exist, but I find it kinda. . . easy to understand? Is that weird? O-o In fact I’d go as far to say it’s not the most complicated thing out there. I think Eva has been so analyzed because at it its time it was kinda this unique thing - it predates Perfect Blue, which had similar themes of disliking fantasy, by four years - and due to great storyboarding nothing looks as pretty as it at the time. It really was, and still is, quite a monster haha.
It looks like this was from a time where I was experiecing hell. I was working over 45 hours a week during the worst parts of covid and feeling quite literally, bordering suicidal from being overworked and underpaid. Thank god I'm out of that state now, and it looks like your previous comment slipped through the cracks. :/ I'm sorry again my friend, but I'm looking forward to begin another conversation. Let's rock, baby!
Evangelion and me have been having an interesting relationship. I'm at the point in my life where it's resonating insanely and I'm truly appreciating it's value. I've read tons of interviews from Anno and staff, and oddly enough I'm loving the franchise more than ever. I think I love Evangelion so much because, in laymen's terms, it's Anno's self insert and fantasy - realizing he has to reject fantasy to be who he truly is and was meant to be, to stop emotionally relying on people to the point of mania and even if life gives you hell, to not succumb to nihilism, self pity, and that you, and the rest of humanity is worth saving and fighting for. I think that's why I love End of Evangelion so much, it's the sum-totality of the thematic throughline of the series - and man, it looks really pretty.
Anyway, sorry for the rant haha. How have you been doing?
Thanks for the request
