Looking back at one of the very first conversations we had, my reason for wanting to talk with you besides just fellow MAL programmers getting together to help each other.
Was for the very purpose of making a PHP/API website for generating CSS for anime/manga list themes that contains synopsis and other useful info, and it took me 3 and a half years to finally do it, well plus other projects in-between..

Oddly enough it doesn't seem to work on your anime list though, almost as if they have banned your username from being fetched or some bug I'm not seeing with any other username, but your manga list works..

As you know MAL skips id's of anime/manga id's that are duplicate, never approved or are removed for not meeting their standard and are kept as 404 pages, so that's normal, I could map all the 404's or use a github I saw that already did and just skip them, but it's not a big deal as the sleep is cut in half an speeds past the 404's anyway.

It works fine atm, but I will need to make more for specific cases or userlists and such; scrape for latest anime/manga id.. for when I do cron jobs.

The JSON is stored on my server each time it sends out a successful request ie gets a code 200 response, if not it prints the backup or error (the scraper has a setting that forwards the http response to the api headers)

I mean it's my inbox and that's how I want to use it since I can't view my contributions page unlike in AniList (I could view my submissions there on my profile's Submissions tab). It's much easier for me to keep track of what got approved and what got denied including the dates, links to entries, and reason for denial that way (updating my blog for that has gotten quite tedious; and for my stacks, I only list the ones that got approved). Sorry. I know some who also keep notifications for their DB submissions in their inbox like I do... And I don't get much PMs other than notifications for my DB submissions, anyways, so it's fine. I could just reply to profile comments when I get a PM if another user has their comments section enabled (I've received a PM before and asked the other user if I could use the profile comments to send my reply and they were okay with it.). For other club-related stuff or questions about entries, I exchange messages with others in club threads or in Discord, although it takes a while for me to reply in Discord since I don't often check it unlike MAL.

I don't have much in my outbox since I don't send PMs. I can't send anymore PMs since I keep the notifications I receive from my DB submissions (anime, manga, character, people, etc.). I have a few I keep in my outbox from past conversations but I've already sorted that out before (deleted some since one message is just enough to see the rest of the convo). I don't want to delete receipts of my DB submissions (all approvals and some denials) even though I list the approvals in my stacks and blog (but I haven't updated that). I've deleted other denials and notifications from things I've reported before but I can no longer trim my inbox down to less than 1k. The contributions page should be viewable like in AniList. If I can view mine then I really don't mind deleting my inbox. Anyways, people can just message me in my profile's comments section if needed.

As for the note, I purposely reduced the font size a bit since I didn’t really wanna add it to my profile to begin with. Also, that’s why it’s at the bottom. But MAL has left me no choice. I couldn’t reply to anymore PMs even if I wanted to due to the inbox limit. So I had to somewhat inform others through that note although they might have to squint a bit. LOL. I’m not really keen on using the profile comments but I’ve no choice but to use them so I could reply to messages. After some time, I guess I prefer or I’m more comfortable using the profile comments now than before. I don’t mind other users seeing my convos.

Anyways, thanks for the suggestion. I hope MAL could let us see our contributions page so I could delete that note and declutter my inbox and use it again for those who prefer talking via PMs.

Uhm, I just like adding alternative DBs since I also add them to my notes. It's not like I'm really "wasting time" as I'm only copying them from my notes (usually the sources I share are already in my notes). I don't mind adding Wikis, IMDb, MDL, AsianWiki, etc. But if you only like one source then there's nothing I could do. I'll just share one then. Or maybe I could just put the rest in a spoiler for others who prefer more sources. Anyways, I'll try to stick to one.

I usually add titles to the club when I see something in my tags and notes that aren't in the club yet. So the research has already been previously done...

Hi. I have a question regarding manga that has a live-action adaptation and recently got an anime. Do I need to remove the manga from the manga relations then add the anime to the anime relations? Wouldn't it be alright to retain both anime and manga since both are part of the franchise?

I recall this old rule on the front page before that's why I'm asking again 😅:

It's no longer there. But I would just like to clarify if it's now alright to add both anime and manga to the sidebar.

Oh, and how about large franchises like Pokemon? I mean it has a live-action Hollywood film (Detective Pikachu) and a musical stage production (to my surprise). Do we need to add all 183 Pokemon anime currently in the DB to the sidebar? 😅

I would just like some feedback to my recent additions. Do I have to add everything from a franchise? Like everything Patalliro! and Sasaki to Miyano? Was the Banana Fish manga addition a right call?

Wow! That looks really nice! Gosh, I wish all clubs' "Edit Club Details" are like that. But MAL will take ages to even implement something similar as they have yet to add the edit and preview in the comments sections of clubs.

Regarding the club comments, it’s so weird because more of my posts got deleted. Like my reply with the manhua and manhwa with links. Perhaps we can create a thread for discussing stuff related to the club in the Club Discussions? Idk what’s happening with the club comments section.

Uhm. I have yet to test it later when I get back on my computer. I'll be out for a while and will just be on mobile. But it looks like I'll be fine running it manually as the submissions the club get are just every now and then. If the club gets bulk submissions then a script would most likely be needed.
