Short Summary[]
As the Marines prepare the Buster Call, Vegapunk attempts to give himself to no avail as Saturn does not believe the world needs progress. Sanji sends the rest of the group to Labophase while he will retrieve Vegapunk as he contacts Nami to warn the others about the Buster Call. Nami reports the situation from their end, including that Lilith and Brook have moved the Thousand Sunny. As the Marines begin their bombardment, Kizaru destroys the Vacuum Rocket that Franky's group is on.
As Saturn orders the Pacifistas to kill Kuma and Bonney, Luffy is discovered to be using the Food Machine to replenish himself. Meanwhile the Marine ship sent to kill the researchers that escaped Egghead is damaged and the surviving Marines onboard want to warn Kizaru that they failed in their mission and that an unknown party is heading to Egghead.
Long Summary[]
All Marines are ordered to return to the ships before the Buster Call can begin. Doll tells Saturn and Kizaru to return to the ships with them, but Saturn says the two of them will remain on the island and to begin the bombardment as soon as possible. Doll is hesitant, but Kizaru sternly orders her to leave, and she does. Dr. Vegapunk demands to know why Saturn wants all of Egghead Island destroyed if he just came for his life, claiming that if the island is destroyed, it will set mankind back by an entire century. He pleads with the two of them to call off the attack, but Saturn refuses, claiming Dr. Vegapunk might be hiding more things from the World Government on the island, but he also says that mankind has no need for further advancement.
Saturn then tells Dr. Vegapunk that he ordered the ship with all of the researchers hunted down and destroyed, to the scientist’s shock. Saturn tries to justify his decision by saying the researchers may have known something about the Void Century, so he wanted them all dead to ensure they do not tell anyone. Dr. Vegapunk yells that none of them knew anything so they were not criminals, but Saturn tells Dr. Vegapunk that it is his fault for getting them dragged into his thirst for knowledge.
The Pacifista are ordered to remain on the island as the Marines board their ships. Sanji tells Franky and Atlas to get to the Vacuum Rocket and reunite with everyone at the Labophase. Bonney asks Sanji about Dr. Vegapunk and Sanji reassures her he will go back for them. Once they take off, Sanji contacts Nami asking about her status, with her telling him they made it to the back entrance and asks what happened on his end. He tells her what has been going on and she, Chopper, and Usopp react with fear that a Buster Call is incoming. Nami asks Sanji if Luffy is with him, but he says he lost sight of him. Nami also tells him that Zoro is still fighting Lucci and Jinbe was sent to get him. Nami also tells Sanji that Lilith did not fall down with the others and Brook had gone to help her move the Thousand Sunny. However, she follows up by revealing that the Vegaforce-01 was completely destroyed, so their previous plan is no longer viable.
With the ship, Lilith praises Brook for coming up with an idea for getting the ship to the back entrance, which involved the latter freezing the clouds with his powers for the ship to slide on. However, when Lilith asks how they plan on stopping when they get there, he says he did not think of that, much to her annoyance, and the two start panicking. Meanwhile, the Buster Call finally begins, and much of the Fabriophase is destroyed as Dr. Vegapunk helplessly watches.
To make matters worse, Kizaru destroys the Vacuum Rocket’s tube, causing everyone to fall out of the air. Sanji moves to rescue them, but Saturn orders the Pacifista to kill Kuma and Bonney both, calling it a fitting fate for the man who threw his life away for his daughter to live, even going so far as to call Kuma’s struggles the height of folly. Dr. Vegapunk watches in horror as his soldiers prepare to blast the two. Elsewhere, Luffy has eaten a ton of food produced from Dr. Vegapunk’s invention, but he has also been found by the Marines and cannot even move.
Unbeknownst to both Dr. Vegapunk and Saturn, the ship that was sent to kill the researchers was sunk before it could accomplish its mission. A surviving Marine tries to contact Kizaru to let them know that “they” are coming to Egghead.
