Hiwa is a young girl who appears in One Piece novel HEROINES.[1]
Appearance[]
Hiwa is a young girl with short hair. She wears a white collared shirt and black pants.
Personality[]
Hiwa is a particularly headstrong person, and was seemingly the only resident of her island that refused to submit to the pirates. She was also quite rash, losing all trust in Tashigi's sword skills upon hearing that she acknowledged other Marine swordsmen as stronger, but seems to have begun to understand the nuance of strength after watching Smoker.
Abilities and Powers[]
Swordsmanship[]
In an attempt to get stronger than the pirates on her home island, Hiwa is training to become a swordswoman, taking lessons from Atori. According to Tashigi, she has a good grasp of basic swordsmanship concepts, but not more than that.
She owns a bamboo sword that she uses to train.
History[]
Past[]
Six months ago, Hiwa began learning swordsmanship from Atori.
One Piece novel HEROINES[]
Hiwa found Tashigi practicing her swordsmanship, and asked the Marine to teach her. After an hour of training, Tashigi suggested that Hiwa take a break, but the girl declined. Instead, Tashigi began training next to her, confusing Hiwa, who thought that only children had to train. She asked Tashigi why she was training, and when Tashigi explained that there were Marines stronger than her, got mad that Tashigi was supposedly weak. When Tashigi tried to explain that just because she wasn't the strongest it didn't mean she had no sword skills, Hiwa stormed off, not wanting to learn from someone she considered weak. However, unbeknownst to Tashigi and the Marine, Hiwa had heard the location of the pirates' hideout.
Wanting to get revenge on them for scarring Atori, Hiwa attacked the pirates' hideout, but was defeated and taken hostage. They intended to sell her as a slave, and kept her tied up.
Later that night, the pirates' hideout was attacked by Tashigi, who had discovered that Hiwa had attempted to fight them herself. After watching Tashigi easily defeat the pirates, Hiwa apologized for her earlier actions. However, while Tashigi tried to undo the knots of the rope tying Hiwa, she was shot in the shoulder by a straggler. Though Tashigi was able to defeat him and send the other remnants running, Hiwa began crying, guilty over getting Tashigi shot.
While Tashigi comforted Hiwa over her guilt, another pirate returned, this time with bombs strapped to his chest. Convinced they were real, Hiwa cried that they were going to die as Tashigi managed to break open a window and let Smoker in. As smoker, he incapacitated the pirate, shocking Hiwa, and freed her from the rope. She realized that the Marines would fully deal with the pirates, to her relief.
After the Marines arrested the pirates, Hiwa decided she wanted to enlist, and continued practicing her sword skills.
