Hey there Chenzw, do you mind helping me with the Green Day article? Maybe helping me create the last 23 red links and copyediting it would help. Thanks, RyanCross (talk) 01:56, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. However, I may not be very good in copy-editing (though I can reduce red links). I will start this afternoon (in a few more hours), as I will be going out soon. Chenzw  Talk  02:08, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Though, I might be finished by then. If there are still some red links when you come back, feel free to create them. Thanks! -- RyanCross (talk) 02:10, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bisanz

Whoops! Meant to put "Vandalism-account only" :P. But how come bad username? --Gwib -(talk)- 13:55, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. Well, an established user called MBisanz exists, so bad username. Chenzw  Talk  14:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

why did you undo my edits.

Musharraf is not president anymore. And I have put the coat of arms in the proper place also. 213.89.158.90 (talk) 00:23, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page deleted

I am referring to the page you just deleted. I created that page, although I don't exactly know how I got there. I created an input box for users to click on when they want to post a message on Simple Talk. I got the code wrong, then it got messed up such that posting a message using the button would post the message under the page I got to. I have removed the button now. Sorry! Minor or Prime 12:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright. Regarding the button, I will try to fix it. It will be more convenient for others that way. Chenzw  Talk  12:18, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you succeed. I tried this:

<inputbox> type=comment hidden=yes default=Wikipedia:Simple Talk buttonlabel=Post a Message by Clicking Here! </inputbox>

and it came out like this:

, but I realised it only worked for talk pages. If there is another kind of input box, it would be great! Minor or Prime 12:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It works, apparently. There doesn't seem to be any difference if used on a non-talk page. Chenzw  Talk  12:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Strange. If you try the one above, it doesn't work. I got the same result when I created it at Simple Talk so I deleted it. I noticed someone put it back, and fixed it. It works now. I'll check the Wikipedia:Simple Talk/header 's history. Minor or Prime 12:42, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop it

Stop accusing me of things I never done right. I is never vandalised, nor attacked another editor, got it? 194.81.157.44 (talk) 13:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your attacking an editor right now. Static -=Electrify My Thoughts=- 13:20, Tuesday September 9 2008 (UTC)
He seems to have a very dynamic IP address. One more time he vandalises and all addresses he uses will be blocked. Chenzw  Talk  13:22, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK but how do you know? Static -=Electrify My Thoughts=- 13:24, Tuesday September 9 2008 (UTC)
Because I warned another IP earlier for attacking Creol. I gave him a test3 warning as well. Chenzw  Talk  13:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK I will go back to reverting vandalism now.See you on IRC maybe later StaticFalcon -=Electrify My Thoughts=- 13:27, Tuesday September 9 2008 (UTC)
Not my fault my IP changes. And I have not attacked a single editor. I haven't a fucking clue what you're talking about. Don't be so overly sensitive. 194.81.157.44 (talk) 13:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your en.wiki talk page

Do you know there is the words: "You are a faggot!" on your en.wiki talk page? The very top line in the welcome post. Don't know whether it is an 'in-joke' but I thought I'd let you know ;) Kennedy (talk) 13:45, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was this guy. I can't imagine it was good faith somehow. 194.81.157.44 (talk) 14:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It appears you are correct :) I have removed it for the time being. Kennedy (talk) 14:53, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That was vandalism (I didn't know I was quite "well known" at EN). I must have missed it as Eptalon posted something 34 minutes after. Thanks for that! Chenzw  Talk  10:33, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I just didn't know if that was you 'coming out the closet' or... ;) Kennedy (talk) 10:42, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AN

Hello Chenzw, there is currently a thread on WP:AN that can be read for myself editing a wiki where Ionas68224 edits, as my real name is used. Can you please ask Ionas to kindly remove the references to real world names with usernames, as one name, if seen by certain ENWP editors, may imply I edit that wiki, and maybe the page on KA there, causing further unneeded damage on ENWP (where I have been falsely acussed of socking). Thanks, and hoping all is well -- Da Punk '95 (talk) 10:34, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, I don't understand the first sentence. Please clarify. Chenzw  Talk  10:41, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
E-mail sent - sorry but I dont wish to put what I written on a public page. -- Da Punk '95 (talk) 10:48, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. I will remove the personal info now. Chenzw  Talk  11:14, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was not talking about Da Punk, as the Nathan there is an enwiki user by a different name. Daniel Bryant insists on using Da Punk's real name when addressing him, and thus there is a problem. Daniel is quite a rude person (I have experienced his rudeness on IRC recently) and I understand Da Punk's concerns, but I think it is unlikely that Da Punk will be suspected of editing a page labeled obsessive, which might do harm to him. — Jonas Rand · (talk) 01:52, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. Chenzw  Talk  01:56, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RyanCross' RfA thanks

Hello. I thank you for your support in my request for adminship. It was closed as successful. I am honored and thankful for the trust you have in me and for the new position you have helped place me in as an administrator. I will do my very best as an administrator for Simple English Wikipedia, and I promise I'll do all I can to the best of my abilities. If you need any help at all or if you need my assistance, feel free to drop a message on my talk page. I'll see if I can be of help. Again, thank you. I appreciate it very much.
Yours truly, RyanCross (talk) 08:13, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for changing them all to soft redirects, have you seen the new stat page layout? --Gwib -(talk)- 12:36, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. It's really nice. :) The protection interface has been given an overhaul too. Chenzw  Talk  12:40, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Erm... does it mean it doesn't use the MediaWiki message anymore? Chenzw  Talk  12:41, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Where's the protection interface? Link link link! I'm not sure about the message system, but I doubt it will have changed. --Gwib -(talk)- 12:42, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's the protect tab. Chenzw  Talk  12:43, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh that, I'd noticed that but I just thought my screen was too small so it bunched everything together :P. All other tabs seem normal, other stat pages haven't changed so it can't have been a huge overhaul. Still, change is nice. --Gwib -(talk)- 12:46, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Article - V V Brown

Hi Chenzw

I added an article this morning on behalf of one of our artists V V Brown which i can see you have taken down.

Your reason for deletion is that the article does not say why this person is notable. I would argue that the article does in fact say this in that the artist is signed to a major label Isand records(as stated) and amongst several references to current newspaper articles such as the Guardian, Daily Mail and Vogue Magazine the artist has also been featured on prime time television on Later with Jools Holland last month (also referenced).

I am a new user of Wiki and this is my first article - it may well be the case that i am missing something here - pls could you suggest to me exactly what needs to be changed in order to get this article back up again.

With Thanks

Barnard

79.73.95.249 (talk) 13:19, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, although the artist is signed to a major label, he does not appear to be very famous yet (possibly due to not having released anything). A quick search only gives about 700 results. If you still think I have done this in error, please feel free to discuss this on Wikipedia:Simple talk. Chenzw  Talk  01:28, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

removal question

Dear Chenzw, I have created the page ASPIRE Printing Press to let people know where we are. It wasn't meant to be advertizing. Please let me know the way to change the content so taht it stays in wiki, as now when users search for APP they will see the unattractive message that page is deleted. Why I say it is not advertising, or worse: spam as it is now marked, there is the simple reason: ASPIRE is government company. And adding it in the wiki is essential. Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ASPIRE Printing Press (talkcontribs)

Firstly, please note that users are should not be editing articles for commercial purposes. As you mentioned that it is a government company, what you should do is to create the article, listing what the company does, notable achievements (mentioned in the media), bad events, etc. Another thing to note is that the article is not meant to promote, but to inform. Hey Chen, this user is unrepetent. He just vandalized again straight after the block expired. Could you extend it for a week? alexandra (talk) 08:11, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to draw some attention from admins to the fact that WP:Video gmaes has been started (and is in full flight) on a talk page and needs to be moved properly by an admin. Please see User:A Link to the Past/WikiProject Video games. Anyway thanks again for that ~ R.T.G 04:32, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What do you want me to move, and to where? Chenzw  Talk  04:50, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
move the blue link above to the red link above along with history and talk page and redirect to that page.. reason: the wikiproject video games hardly belongs on a user page and it has a dozen members and a big worklist so it must be the real project by now... ~ R.T.G 05:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The WikiProject has to stay in userspace until it has gained approval by the community (on Simple talk). Right now, it doesn't seem so. Chenzw  Talk  05:14, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

twinkle

Hi there, I was wondering how you managed to get twinkle to work on this wiki? WashingManwithwings (talk) 13:58, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maxim started it by copying the code from the English Wikipedia. The warnings module has been adapted reasonably well. It can be found here and here. Just use importscript() to enable it. Chenzw  Talk  14:01, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you do it for me I think that I messed it up. I cant seem to get it working. WashingManwithwings (talk) 14:08, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done. You now need to refresh your browser's cache. Chenzw  Talk  14:12, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. WashingManwithwings (talk) 14:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, i also tried to add it and it's not really worked... could you please take a look?
Also, i'm going to look into bringing other modules across and eventually the whole thing.
Thanks,
BG7even 10:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Due to some strange reason, you only see the "warn" tab when you are editing the talk page. For bringing the other modules over, it may be a good idea to set up a WikiProject. Chenzw  Talk  10:44, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, User:Project/Twinkle sound alright? Oh and the welcome module would be most welcome ;) and the rollbacking one. BG7even 10:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't agree with your revert of Chris G Bot's revert of this page. I reverted it back myself as I found the other version it too complex. If you do decide to re-revert it, please add a complex tag to it. Thanks, Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 11:53, 26 October 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Thanks for adding the tag, I'm reviewing the article at the moment. Yotcmdr (talk) 12:21, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't mention it. :) Chenzw  Talk  12:25, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle

Hi Chenzw,

I noticed that you just used Twinkle to warn someone - how can I use it? I'm finding it really frustrating not having it here!

Thanks,

BG7even 10:33, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This chunk of code should do:
TwinkleConfig = {
        revertMaxRevisions              :       50,
        userTalkPageMode                :       'tab',
        showSharedIPNotice              :       false,
        openTalkPage                    :       [ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand' ],
        openTalkPageOnAutoRevert        :       false,
        summaryAd                       :       " using TW",
        deletionSummaryAd               :       " using TW",
        protectionSummaryAd             :       " using TW",
        watchRevertedPages              :       [],
        markRevertedPagesAsMinor        : [ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand', 'torev' ],
        deleteTalkPageOnDelete          :       false,
        watchWarnings                   :       false,
        markAIVReportAsMinor            :       false,
        markSpeedyPagesAsMinor          :       true,
        offerReasonOnNormalRevert       :       true,
};

importScript('User:Maxim/morebits.js');
importScript('User:Maxim/twinklefluff.js');
importScript('User:Maxim/twinklewarn.js');
importScript('User:Maxim/twinklediff.js');
importScript('User:Maxim/twinklespeedy.js');
By the way, the "warn" tab will only appear while editing someone's talk page. Chenzw  Talk  09:52, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why revert the ip?

Why are you reverting the ip? Hes only adding the flag to Pakistan related articles, and they are on the en version, so why not here? Synergy 14:31, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Now you blocked the ip but gave no reason. Why on earth did you do this? Synergy 14:33, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I unblocked the ip since you didn't give a reason, and are not responding. Maybe we can talk about this now? Synergy 14:37, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the last reply. My internet connection dropped. That IP (and other similar ones) have been warned numerous times about introducing POVs to articles (especially those related to Pakistan). He has an extensive block log and there is no reason that he can't understand the warnings as checkuser evidence proves that he has some knowledge of English. Maybe you want to email me for more details. Chenzw  Talk  14:41, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm judging the block based on the recent edits. None of his edits merit a block. All of those articles on en.wiki have the flag images. If you want to e-mail me info about him, I'll read it of course but you should have noted in the block log why you blocked. Synergy 14:45, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also to answer your question, Chenzw deleted your page, he is an administrator here, the community here gave Chenzw the right to delete your page, which was not helpful. Therefore, we call it vandalism. Do not create pages which are not helpful. This is an encyclopedia, not MySpace, we have no connection to MySpace.
