Kela is an Ocampa. Her convoy is exploring the Delta Quadrant in search of a new home. When the player meets Kela, her convoy is travelling in the company of allied ships.

“Ocampan Freighter Patrol”: Kela hails the player and asks for assistance; they need to harvest some nearby ionic clouds for energy, but the theta radiation would damage their ships' shields. Kela asks the player to extract the required elements on the convoy's behalf. In the process of doing so, the player must defend the convoy against alien raiders.
