The Academy Event is available during the recurring Junior Officer Appreciation Weekends.

Synopsis[]

Players partner with a cadet, leading them around the academy to scan particles that appear throughout the event at specific locations on the grounds and in the buildings. In the process, players collect [Particle Fragment] which can then be traded for a Duty Officer of the same department as the cadet (tactical, engineering, science). The [Particle Fragment] do not last long after the event ends and will disappear from the inventory.

Mission text[]

Hello, <rank>! Admiral Quinn indicated that you could assist me.

The cadets in my class at Starfleet Academy are learning how to scan and record particle traces. They could use the help of an officer with experience in the field like yourself.

If you can help these cadets to graduate, the personnel department will release a new junior officer to your ship!

Goal[]

Proceed to Starfleet Academy during the Junior Officer Appreciation Event to help a cadet in Professor Neal Meyer's class.
This is an Event. If you complete Professor Meyer's assignment successfully, you will collect Particle Fragments that you can exchange for a Duty Officer.

Notes[]

  • The mission was slightly revamped in April 2014, in order to give out Duty Officer rewards during the Junior Officer Appreciation Weekend, instead of the original Dilithium rewards. The revamped version premiered on April 10, staying live until April 14.
  • There is no need to interact with Professor Neal Meyer to start the event, it is active for all players in the location.
  • The mission itself is only available when the event is active (from Mayer directly or through the mission journal).
  • The mission is technically separate from the event and merely meant to guide players to it. It is however advised to acquire the mission at start, because of the 20h cooldown, starting on pick-up.
  • There is also no obligation to generate a cadet to interact with during the event. However it is mandatory before turning the particles in, as it determines the department of the rewarded Duty Officer.
  • Particles can only be turned in to Professor Meyer. Remaining particles will now automatically be removed from the player's inventory. Particles last during the whole event weekend, however there's no point in collecting more than 75/76 particles per turn-in. They also can't be sold anymore to the Club 602 bartender.
  • 25 Particles for Green Officer / 50 Particles for Blue Officer / 75-76 Particles for Purple Officer- (2020- Event)
Strategy Notes
  • Newer and lower level players are advised to create request a cadet, as they are a help in dealing with the Klingon holograms.
  • You can revive a fallen cadet or fellow player.
  • You can assist other players by shooting their Klingon holograms. The player unlucky enough to get the Klingon hologram drop is the one who receives the particle drop though.
Bugs
  • When interacting with Meyer, players should avoid clicking on Reedem Particle Fragments, if they don't have enough particles to turn-in for the desired Duty Officer. Clicking on Back or trying to close the window, will resolve the mission without any reward, and also remove all collected Fragments from the inventory.
