The national razor
During the Terror year (roughly from October 1793 to Summer 1794,that's how they used to call the guillotine.Based on an Alexandra Dumas book,it is a good early sixties miniseries.
The plot revolves around Queen Marie -Antoinette during the months following her husband 's execution. There were real attempts to escape when she was imprisoned in a dungeon of La Conciergerie (which you can still visit in Paris).Dumas 's story was a fiction, but not unrealistic.
A group of royalists builds a plan to save the queen 's life.Among them,a young couple (Michel Le Royer who played La Fayette in an earlier eponymous movie and Ann Doat) supplies the love interest.
Today French TV should come back to Dumas to make up for the dearth of good screenplays.
