Matt Daniel Rosenlund (born July 21, 1990 in Burnaby, Canada) is a Canadian footballer currently playing for Abbotsford Mariners in the USL Premier Development League. Rosenlund plays most often as a Winger but has also found success while playing as a Right back. Rosenlund`s successes come from his good pace, ability to make constant runs up and down the right flank, and provide good service into the box.
Career
Youth
Rosenlund began his youth career playing for Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC. He later signed with [[Whitecaps FC] Academy] of the Super Y-League. He then moved onto Abbotsford Mariners also of the Super Y-League. He then returned to Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC for the remainder of his youth career. While with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC Rosenlund helped his team get to the finals of Coastal Cup and he received MVP honors for the Finals
Professional
After ending his youth career Rosenlund began playing with Surrey United in the Pacific Coast Soccer League. He made his Surrey United Debut on May 9, 2009 appearing as a substitute during a 3-1 win over Whitecaps FC Prospects[1], during the game Rosenlund registered the 3rd and final goal of the match. During the off season Rosenlund played for local outfit Poco Rangers[2][3].
Beginning 2010 Rosenlund officially signed for Abbotsford Mariners in the USL Premier Development League in 2010. He made his debut for Abbotsford on May 14, 2010 in a game against Vancouver Whitecaps Residency[4] in which the Abbotsford Mariners tied the game 3-3 and were credited a point.
Personal Life
Rosenlund was born in Canada to Canadian parents, Bob & Lori Rosenlund. He grew up in Port Coquitlam with his parents and two brothers, older brother Tyler Rosenlund who currently plays for Rochester Rhinos of the USSF Division 2 Professional League and younger brother Cole Rosenlund.
