Origin
Ben, is a Hebrew word, meaning "son." The name Benjamin in the bible means "son of the right hand". It is also used in Jewish names such as David ben Moshe, which means David son of Moshe. This form is used in Jewish religious life. Compare to bat. This Jewish practice dates back to the time of the Second Temple.

Ben is most often a shortened version of the given name Benjamin or Benedict. It can also refer to:
