The 2021 Vuelta a España is a three-week cycling race scheduled to take place in Spain between 14 August and 5 September, 2021. It is the 76th edition of the Vuelta a España and the third and final grand tour of the 2021 men's road cycling season. The race departs from Burgos and finishes in Santiago de Compostela.[1]

Teams

Twenty-three teams are expected to participate in the 2021 Vuelta a España. All nineteen UCI WorldTeams must participate. Four UCI ProTeams are expected to participate: Alpecin-Fenix is automatically invited as the best-performing ProTeam in 2020, as well as three wildcard teams selected by the Amaury Sport Organization. Usually, only twenty-two teams would participate in the race, but the Union Cycliste Internationale is allowing grand tour organizers to invite one extra wildcard team in 2021 to account for hardship created by the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
