is vsftpd really supporting SFTP (SSH file transfer protocol)?? I did not find ANY information that would confirm it... on their page you only find it supports SSL, further documentation is almost not existing. so i think maybe it only supports FTPS (FTP over SSL)?

It doesnt support SFTP. Only FTPS.
