origami Articles
[edit]Hi there! I am also trying to improve the quality (and number) of wikipedia articles on origami. I have seen your articles on Satoshi Kamiya and Kunihiko Kasahara, and I have a few comments:
- Usually it's a bad idea to refer to a model unless you have either a link to a picture or a picyture; otherwise the refrence has no meaning to those who have not seen the model (and who would therefore know the author and have no reason to look it up)
- If you refer to a book, list it at the bottom under a "further reading" category, as has been done in the origami article.
- Would you be intrested in starting a wikiproject on origami? There is plenty of work to be done, and it will be easier to get other people invovlved and get more work done if we have some organization. I was thinking we'd concentrate on one article each week, and try to get it up to par. If you are intrested, please sign your name on the origami talk page.
That's all for now! I look forward to working with you later on Origami articles (and the rest of wikipedia as well). Thank you and welcome to wikipedia! Ahudson 18:45, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Origami fan
[edit]I see you're an origami lover like me. There is a userbox you can put on your user page that says you enjoy origami. Just put {{User:UBX/Origami}} on your page, and this will be your result:
This user enjoys origami. |
I enjoy origami too. Savie Kumara 04:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi there, Origamikid. I wonder if you would care to reference your recent edit about Pol Pot's aliases.--Atavi 20:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Eric Joisel
[edit]A tag has been placed on Eric Joisel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ninety:one 22:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Origamikid! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 389 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Mitsonobu Sonobe - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Ways to improve Schistocerca obscura
[edit]Hi, I'm Nick Moyes. Manila folder, thanks for creating Schistocerca obscura!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It would help if you used the full reference to your sources, not just a bare URL. An additional reference would be helpful as blogs are not see as the most reliable of entomological data.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
