Emmy Award-winner, entertainer, producer and entrepreneur Julianne Hough is known to audiences globally for her success in film, television, and music. Lexie seems to have it all that a person is supposed to want in life. But even before the strange feelings arise she is not happy. She has lived as she feels that she was expected to by family, friends, and society in general. Now in her mid 30's she has to find some answers to her internal turmoil. The book is about her journey, and how her family and friends react to the 'new' Lexie, who has finally found the person that she feels she is meant to be.
Whether others agree with her journey or not, there is truth to the situation, which many people find themselves in; stop pleasing others, and find personal truth and awareness.
The book was well written and relatable in many ways.

The topic is not at all new to me. I loved finding a fictional tale about this very real topic. The author revealed strong authentic knowledge and good research. I spent many years studying, learning, practicing, and teaching energy work with similar methods. But…It can’t be understood without at least a quick description of chakras which are the foundation and integral basis of energy work, and the entire cause of the auras. The chakra energy system was not mentioned that I remember, and that left a gaping hole in the big picture for readers who are new to the topic. The cause of the colors and cords would just seem fantastical But it was a great story of friendship, families, and marriage challenges The energy tradition of healing is quite ancient, and not just a new age fad. I don’t remember that being stated, but perhaps it was. I loved Bea, the practitioner in the story. I have known her in my years. I suspect many will read this as just new age science fiction, but I hope some will be tempted to look into it further. Humans have so much to discover. Open minds create better lives. But even without any real belief like mine, or further curiosity, the book is still an enjoyable read.

This book was SO different than I thought it would and it was one of those novels where I couldn't put it down, but also couldn't tell if I truly liked it. If that makes any sense! I think you really have to be into spirituality and go in with an open mind when you read this. It talks a lot about energy, finding yourself and a different way of looking at things. Interesting!
