Japanese Comic Ranking, June 19–June 25

Long-awaited new Evangelion leads chart, followed by Skip Beat!
The first Evangelion volume in over a year builds upon the pent-up demand (and this year's movie hype) to take first place in the comic ranking chart. This volume is also the first whose original story is co-credited to Khara, the new animation company that Evangelion anime director Hideaki Anno founded in 2006.
The only other new titles to rank on the chart are the Skip Beat! shōjo story about a rising singer, the latest baseball manga with the distinctively drawn character eyes of Touch's Mitsuru Adachi, the next volume of big-in-Japan-less-so-in-America Konjiki no Gash!!, and the martial arts comedy Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi.
