How to get a Real Estate License in Illinois
To become a real estate agent in Illinois, you must first get your Illinois real estate license. The process of getting your real estate license generally takes a few months and includes the following steps:

Enroll in an Illinois real estate school
The first step to get your Illinois real estate license is to enroll in a real estate school and complete a 75-hour real estate pre-licensing course. The 75-hour course includes 60-hour Broker Pre-License Topics and 15-hour Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles, both of which are mandatory as part of your pre-licensing education.

Pass the course final exam
Once you have completed the 75-hour Illinois real estate pre-licensing course, you must pass a course exam that will help prepare you for the state exam.

Pass the state license exam
Once you complete your course-requirements and your course exam, you are eligible to take the Illinois Real Estate Broker license exam. Candidates have the option to either take the Illinois real estate licensing exam at an in-person testing center or online.
