A man has been arrested in connection with a disturbance in Weymouth which reportedly involved several individuals armed with knives. Dorset Police say officers were called out at around 3.10am today (Sunday, December 3) to reports of a group of people walking around town provoking fights and assaulting members of the public.
During the incident, a driver was allegedly threatened in Park Street car park by individuals who were armed with knives, Dorset Police said in a statement. Two women suffered minor injuries during the incident.
A 20-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article with intent to cause fear of violence. Dorset Police are now appealing for information from anyone who witnesses the incident, or was threatened or assaulted at the time.
